The Grand Scientific Award 2016 of the Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca
The Grand Scientific Award 2016 of the Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca has been awarded on June 8th, 2016. This event took place under the dome of the Institut de France. It is organized every year since 2005.
Dr. Erwan BEZARD (represented by Dr Benjamin DEHAY) thus sees return the Grand Scientific Award 2016 of the Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca for the research project “Identification of the α-synuclein toxic Species responsible for synucleinopathies”. He shares the Award with Dr. Ronald MELKI (Neurosciences Institute Paris-Saclay CNRS UMR 9197 of the University Paris-Sud). Although having competed on different projects (but complementary), both working together on these issues and their research teams receive €137,500 each.
These awards and grants are awarded annually by the Foundation on the proposal of the Academy of Sciences. An ad hoc jury is made each year according to the theme chosen by the Foundation Committee. It rewards a French or European researcher and his team, with an ambitious research project on a promising theme specified each year.
