2-year postdoctoral position
A 2-year post-doctoral position in the group “Pathological decision-making in addiction“
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral research fellow position in the group “Pathological decision-making in addiction” to study the causal role of the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) in cocaine addiction using a choice-based animal model. Briefly, the specific objectives will be to test whether and how excessive cocaine choices causally depend on activity of OFC pyramidal cell bodies and their striatal axon terminals, using relevant optogenetic methods coupled with electrophysiological recording methods. This project should allow one to peer into the cortical machinery that underlies choice-making and to begin to clarify how its dysfunctions causally drive cocaine choices at the expense of other options in vulnerable individuals.
