A 2-year post-doctoral position
One of our groups is looking to hire a postdoctoral scientist with an interest for basal ganglia circuits.
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral research fellow position in the group « Dopamine & Neuronal Assemblies » to study the function of external globus pallidus (GPe) neurons in motor control. The specific objectives will be to characterize the specific properties of prototypic and arkypallidal neurons and their functional connectome using transgenic mice and relevant optogenetic methods coupled with patch-clamp electrophysiological recordings ex vivo. This project should allow one to inspect the function of pallidal neurons in basal ganglia operation and dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease.
Candidates, preferably with experience either in patch-clamp electrophysiology or in brain stereotaxic surgery, in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetic methods in behaving rodents, should send their CV, brief statement of research interests and 2 support letters.
The position is available immediately.
